Humberto Barahona, nació en Viña del Mar en 1949 y pasó su niñez en Quillota, de profesión profesor. Es casado con María Inés Becas y tienen dos hijos, Natalia y Matías. Desde su juventud se interesó por la filosofía y las religiones orientales. Es fundador del Instituto de Difusión Budista, tarea a la que ha dedicado gran parte de su vida. Tomó Refugio formal en las enseñanzas del Buddha el año 1981 con el Lama Tounsang, nacido en Tibet y refugiado en Francia. A lo largo de los años, ha sido introducido también en la tradición Mahayana y Theravada, así como en el Dzogchen.
Humberto Barahona was born in Viña del Mar, in 1949 and spent his childhood in Quillota, a professor by profession. He is married to Maria Inês Becas and they have two children, Natalia and Matias. From his youth he became interested in Eastern philosophy and religions. He is the founder of the Institute of Buddhist Diffusion, a task to which he has dedicated a great part of his life. Formally took refuge in Buddha's teachings in 1981 with Lama Tounsang, born in Tibet and refugee in France. Leopoldou Suarez Pulidonasceu no ano de 1953, em Santiago do Chile. É casado, pai de três filhos, médico de profissão, especialista em cirurgia geral.
O ano de 2009, realizou o Curso de Introdução ao Budismo e a Meditação, com o Professor Humberto Barahona e, desde essa data, tem frequentado regularmente as práticas da sangha e os cursos, palestras e retiros organizados pelo Instituto de Difusão do budismo. Estudou os textos da tradição Theravada e tem atuado também em cursos de budismo Zen. Estudou outras tradições budistas, incluindo o budismo secular de aparecimento recente no ocidente. Em janeiro do ano de 2014, frequentou o curso de retiro de 10 dias organizado pela Fundação Vipassana Chile. Sua área de interesse é a aplicação prática da atenção plena na vida cotidiana.
Leopoldo Suarez Polido, was born in 1953 in Santiago do Chile. He is married, father of three children; doutor by profession, specialist in general surgery.
In 2009 he took the introdução course in Budismo with Professor Humberto Barahona and since then he has regularly attended the practices of the sangha and the courses, conferences and retreats organized by the Buddhist Outreach Institute. He has studied the texts of the Theravada tradition and has also participated in courses in Zen Buddhism. He has studied other Budista traditions incluindo secular Budismo of recent appearance in the West. In January of 2014, eu attended the 10-day retreat course organized by the Vipassana Chile Foundation.
His area of interest is the application of the practice of mindfulness in everyday life.

Em Novembro de 2013, seguiu o Curso Prático de Budismo e Meditação Vipassana no Instituto de Difusão Budista IDB em Santiago, incorporando-se depois para o seu grupo de prática semanal e participando ativamente nos programas do Instituto.
